A little update l Richard Armitage, Artwork, FanstRA

I know I haven’t been around on here that much lately, but it’s been crazy busy here for me and I have a lot of things to do. I apologise!

Since last time I posted I have received a lot of RA/The Hobbit stuff. Magazines, stuff from WETA Workshop, and so on. I have redecorated my room again, been drawing a lot.

Will attach some drawings I’ve made.

I will try to be more active but school is keeping me busy, so maybe when I’ve graduated. Maybe then I can be as active as last summer.

What else? Oh right! FanstRA is coming up, and I have signed up to participate, for the very first time. We will see what I can come up with… I have a few ideas, I just hope I have the time!

Working on a project involving Art, Richard Armitage and The Hobbit

I started working on this project in the beginning of January. Actually, I didn’t know it would turn into a project at first, but when I finished my first portrait I thought ‘Why not?’. I need something to do when I’m not studying, to occupy my mind with something else. I am right now in a state where I just want to graduate. So this is a project to soothe my inner self. And also, as some of you may know, I bought a new digital tablet recently and I thought it would be nice to use it for something…

So, what is this project of mine you wonder? Well, to describe it as simply as I can – I am going to draw as many characters from The Hobbit as I can. And later on, when I am satisfied with the portraits I have, I will make a book out of them all and send a copy to the man I admire most in this world – Mr. Armitage himself. As a thank you for bringing the creative me to the surface.

I still have 5 more dwarves, a certain hobbit, some elves and other creatures to draw, but these are the ones I’ve done so far…

It does take about 2-3 hours per portrait, and I only have the time at night to do them. It’s a slow process, but I try to make time to do them because I really enjoy it. Something I want to include in this project also is some … nature, landscapes and such as well.

I have started working on a piece from Rivendell, But I don’t have time to finish that one right now since I rarely work with colours and that process is even more difficult. But I do have a break from school soon so maybe I can finish it then. Here is the work in progress anyway.

Redecorated my bedroom l The Hobbit l Upcoming things 2013

I have a few things to talk about. Not right now, but in several posts in the future. I have received some new Hobbity stuff to show you all, I also have a few personal things to write about …

AND I am working on some other projects. One of them is a rather big one. Some of you might have followed the process on twitter since I tend to update with further news on there. It involves The Hobbit and art. And me. All mixed together. Maybe something for this year’s FanstRA. Who knows…

Anyway, I redecorated my room today when I got home from work. Needed some change. And since I enjoy cleaning and decorating I thought “why not?”.

Going through a rough path at the moment which has made me turn towards tumblr more of late, and I usually edit pictures while lurking around there, and here are some of them.

I will, within the near future, post the epilogue to One Last Try – haven’t had time to do that yet and I apologies for the delay.

Will work with the digital tablet more, and hopefully – I will have some artwork to show. Although, I go back to school next week, so we will see when.

Tablet Artwork l Portrait l Goblin King l Gollum

I bought a digital tablet today. Thought it would be easier for me to make cartoons and such with a tablet instead of with the mouse only, so… I invested some money on that. And here’s my first, second and third try on creating something and getting to know the thing. I sold my other one 1.5 years ago and hadn’t used it for a year or so, so it’s been a while since I’ve done this!

I know there are some kind of golden eagles in the movie, but I don’t really care. I dislike drawing ‘birds’ as it is, so I went with what I wanted – in the direction of bald eagles. Hehe. Anyway, I wanted to make some fanart. I’ve seen The Hobbit two times and my third and forth time is coming up soon. And a certain scene in the movie always brings tears to my eyes. The scene doesn’t look like this, but hey, this is my own vision.

Thorin Oakenshield says ‘Merry Christmas’

He doesn’t look too happy, though. And he is definitely not finished. Just a sketch I made last night. I am at our country house to celebrate Christmas with the family or whatever we’re doing. Coming home again on Wednesday. I was going to publish my Christmas Special Hobbit cartoon for you all, but I haven’t had much time. Went to see the Hobbit again on Friday and yeah, busy. But when I come home I will create a late Christmas cartoon for you lot!
